You'll encounter professors who will help you reach your goals and a world of new perspectives that will help you fuel change and power your own future. Our interdisciplinary approach offers you an amazing variety of academic opportunities, providing a richer, deeper learning experience. You'll expand your horizons, discover your strengths, and learn how to harness your potential to become a leader who will positively impact life in Canada and across the globe. FACULTY OF EDUCATION The Faculty of Education's unique staffing model consists of full-time professors and school board personnel. We offer two teacher education programs — Concurrent and Consecutive — leading to a Bachelor of Education (BEd) degree and a recommendation to the Ontario College of Teachers for an Ontario Certificate of Registration. As a Concurrent BEd student, you work simultaneously to complete both your undergraduate degree and professional teaching program. High-school applicants can be considered for the Concurrent BEd if they have been admitted to one of seven Faculties at York (Environmental Studies, Fine Arts, Glendon, Health, Lassonde School of Engineering, Liberal Arts & Professional Studies and Science). Consecutive BEd students have already completed an undergraduate degree. As a full-time Consecutive student, you study over one extended academic year once you complete your undergraduate degree.* Various locations are available. Applicants can also study the Consecutive program on a part-time basis spanning three years. York's Faculty of Education offers a new opportunity to pursue a teaching career in Technological Education. The Concurrent Bachelor of Education in Technological Education is open to individuals enrolled in a related applied field. The part-time Consecutive Bachelor of Education in Technological Education** is available to individuals who have an approved degree in a related technology field that aligns with the Technological Education curriculum from an accredited degree-granting institution. Applicants must apply to the Intermediate/Senior certification level. Both the Concurrent and Consecutive curriculums are delivered over three years. The Concurrent BEd is taught in coordination with the programs offered at Ontario colleges to ensure completion of requirements for both the Bachelor of Education and the related degree. The related degree must include at least 36 months of coursework and one year of cooperative education (i.e. related continuous employment terms of no less than four months each of wage-earning experience). An additional year of work experience will be required prior to graduation in order to be certified by the Ontario College of Teachers. Consecutive part-time BEd applicants must have two years of work-related experience. Graduates to our Concurrent Bachelor of Education in Technological Education program will be certified to teach only for technological subjects. Programs of Study Direct-entry Bachelor of Education (BEd) Concurrent Bachelor of Education (BEd) Consecutive Bachelor of Education (BEd) * tarting September 2015, the Consecutive and Concurrent Bachelor of S Education programs will be a four-semester (two year) program. **Pending approval by the Ontario College of Teachers. 24 2014 - 2015
